Kelway prepares for cloud growth with datacentre deal
VAR signs 10-year lease with datacentre provider Digital Realty
VAR Kelway is building its cloud services portfolio after signing a 10-year lease with datacentre provider Digital Realty Trust (DRT).
The deal will provide the London-based firm with 720 kilowatts of IT capacity at Digital Realty's datacentre facility in Redhill, Surrey.
Digital Realty, which recently moved into Bell Micro's former Chessington headquarters, said the datacentre is equipped with the firm's PowerVU software, which allows its facilities to be managed and monitored centrally.
Phil Doye, chief executive of Kelway, said: "The facility's location, security and technical capabilities, combined with Digital Realty's outstanding operations, make it ideal for our requirements. "
Adam Levine, vice president of sales at Digital Realty, said the firm is seeing a growing demand for its collocation services.
"Many companies are seeking the control and flexibility afforded them by acquiring wholesale colocation space with scalable increments of less than 1MW," he added.
