Tech Data rolls reseller cloud scheme to UK

TDCloud aims to make it easy for resellers to develop their own private and public cloud offerings

Distributor Tech Data Europe, the owner of Computer 2000, has launched a channel programme designed to give resellers a leg-up into the cloud market.

TDCloud, which has already been launched in Tech Data's native US, will provide resellers with access to cloud-enabling solutions from vendors including Cisco, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Symantec and VMware.

The scheme also offers education, enablement and activation resources that help resellers develop their own private and public cloud services propositions.

The role distribution should play in the cloud supply chain is a hotly debated topic.

The first stage of Tech Data's programme will see resellers gain access to cloud workshops and educational events, and they will also be supported by a dedicated business manager. Typical products they will take to market include Microsoft Office 365 and backup and disaster recovery services, the distributor said.

Reza Honarmand, director of software and services for Tech Data Europe, said: "We have worked closely with a select number of our key vendor partners to ensure that TDCloud is both innovative and pragmatic, but most importantly, capable of delivering real growth for our reseller channel."

Milo Shacher, vice president of EMEA Partner Organisation at Cisco, said: "Cisco looks forward to working closely with Tech Data to help resellers take advantage of this important market transition, which has the potential to accelerate the growth of their businesses and increase their profitability."
