Insight's EMEA sales remain flat

But corporate reseller's group profit spikes by 19 per cent

Insight Enterprises has registered a spike in quarterly profits but sales in EMEA remain flat.

The NASDAQ-listed outfit saw net profits rise 19 per cent year on year to $17.2m (£10.8m) in the three months to 30 September, as revenue rose six per cent to $1.24bn.

EMEA sales rose eight per cent in US dollars to $289.1m, thanks to currency headwinds. But in local currencies, EMEA growth stood at just two per cent, with hardware sales flat, software sales rising by three per cent and services up by 15 per cent.

Earnings from operations in EMEA rose from $2.2m to $2.7m year on year, representing 0.9 per cent of net sales.

North American sales rose by five per cent year on year to $913.6m, while APAC sales jumped 17 per cent to $35.3m.

Hardware generated 67 per cent of group sales, with software making up 26 per cent and seven per cent respectively.

Chief executive Ken Lamneck said: "Solid sales performance combined with significant operating leverage led to double-digit earnings growth and operating margin expansion in the third quarter."
