Tekdata signs on as Netgear's fifth UK distributor

Micro-P-owned security specialist joins parent company in security and networking vendor's distribution stable

Netgear has recruited its fifth UK distribution partner in the shape of Stoke-on-Trent-based security specialist Tekdata.

The distributor joins its parent company Micro-P in the networking and security vendor's distribution stable, alongside Computer 2000, Ingram Micro and Entatech. Netgear hopes the partnership will extend its reach into the SMB security channel.

Jonathan Hallatt, VAR director at NETGEAR, said: "Tekdata's reputation and history of partnering with providers of high-quality security products was critical."

Meanwhile Karl Hulme, managing director of Tekdata, claimed the affordability of Netgear's technology made it an attractive proposition for channel partners and end users alike.

"Our tradition of partnering with leading-edge security providers holds true in this agreement with Netgear," he added. "Now though, we will be able to offer our resellers a more comprehensive range of solutions; it gives us the opportunity to become a one-stop shop for the channel."
