NetApp unveils sub-£6,000 storage box
Storage giant said device will help it gain greater ground in the mid-market
NetApp has launched a renewed push into the mid-size enterprise market, with the launch of a new sub-£6,000 storage device.
The product is part of the vendor's new FAS2000 entry-level product line, which is designed to help smaller firms adopt virtualisation.
Tom Georgens, president and chief executive at NetApp, said: "Customers should not be forced to make a trade-off between affordability and good enough technology.
"With solutions that are priced and packaged to address this growing market, NetApp is positioned to help our customers succeed and build a solid foundation that can expand as their business and priorities change," he added.
The storage giant claims that more than 10,000 mid-size businesses already use its products. However, it will be calling on its partners to grab a larger share of the market.
Julie Parrish (pictured), senior vice president of global partner sales at NetApp, added: "With today's announcement, NetApp is combining powerful solutions for mid-size businesses, with the best partner programme in the industry to create compelling opportunities for continued partner success now and into the future."
