Asda fires first salvo in Christmas PC market

Supermarket giant trumps rivals as it slashes the price of its laptops

Asda is gunning for a larger slice of the Christmas laptop market by slashing the price of its notebooks.

First up are the Toshiba Satellite C660D-1C6 and C660-21Z, now going for £319 and £259 respectively.

This is £60 cheaper than its closest rival Amazon.

The supermarket giant claims the new deals will help consumers on tighter budgets to enjoy the latest technology over the festive season.

Asda's technology expert Duncan Tate said in a statement: “We are offering these great deals for our customers as part of our commitment in the lead-up to Christmas to make internet access as affordable as possible.

"These laptop computers provide a one-stop shop for the digitally disconnected. The flexibility and durability of these products make them highly desirable for both novice and expert users.”
