Kyocera Mita approved for national education framework

Vendor becomes official UK provider of print technologies to education

Kyocera Mita has won a spot as an official provider of print hardware, software and services to UK schools.

For the next four years, Kyocera can operate in conjunction with resellers Insight, XMA and Annodata to provide its offerings to members of the National Education Print Agreement Framework (NEPA), which covers six buying consortia.

Mark Hayter, contracts manager at the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) and agreement manager at NEPA, said the framework aims to offer members of the national higher education purchasing consortia access to suppliers able to deliver cost-effective hardware, software and management of print, as well as reduce the environmental impact.

"This will enable them to achieve their goals for best-value procurement," Hayter said.

Elaine Hewitt, public sector consultant at Kyocera, said its channel partners are experienced providers to the education market. The vendor itself would also offer consultancy, services and support.

Kyocera also belongs to the Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges.

Others on the framework include Softcat, European Electronique, Brother and HP.
