Wick Hill kicks off hosting push with Fiberlink signing

VAD to set up dedicated team after signing on to distribute mobile device management vendor's kit

VAD Wick Hill is to set up a team focused on hosting and convergence after being appointed by mobile device management player Fiberlink.

The vendor's MaaS360 technology is designed to deliver the effective management, security and compliance of smartphones and tablets. To drive sales, Wick Hill is to establish a convergence and hosting team, to sit alongside the distributor's core areas of security, networking and performance access.

Ian Kilpatrick (pictured), chairman of the VAD, described the mobile device management arena as "a high-growth area" and characterised Fiberlink's technology as "a leading solution in this market".

"MaaS360 is a key solution for the burgeoning problem, and potential nightmare, of managing, securing and reporting on multiple tablets and smartphones, which are increasingly connecting to and accessing corporate networks," he said.

Fiberlink's president of international sales Steve Hammond added: "We have appointed Wick Hill because of their ability to generate significant growth in this major risk area. Our alliance with Wick Hill represents an important continued expansion of our international network and complements the company's successful track record of delivering endpoint management and security solutions."
