Doyenz prepares for UK cloud push
US-based disaster recovery vendor signs distributor and opens datacentre in UK partner drive
US-based disaster recovery vendor Doyenz has marked its launch in the UK by signing a distributor, opening a datacentre and embarking on a partner recruitment drive.
The vendor said its flagship product, rCloud, can restore virtual environments in less than 15 minutes by hosting virtualised snapshots of local servers in the cloud. It is also aimed at SMBs.
Speaking to ChannelWeb, Eric Webster, chief revenue officer at Doyenz, said the firm has about 60 European partners at the moment, but hopes to have a couple of hundred signed up in the UK eventually.
"We are very bullish about what we can achieve in the UK, especially now we have the London datacentre," said Webster. "Before that, I think a lot of potential partners did not want to do business with us because of compliance issues."
The firm has also recently signed Berkshire-based distributor Blue Solutions to help market the product in the UK and speed up its partner recruitment plans.
"Partners will get technical training and marketing funds – and the product is a great margin opportunity," said Webster.
According to the Doyenz website, partners that package rCloud into their managed service offerings can make up to 65 per cent margin.
Mark Charleton, director of Blue Solutions, said rCloud will be made exclusively available to its 3,000-strong partner network.
"The addition of Doyenz to our vendor portfolio is a natural extension to our strategy to help our channel partners grow their businesses and move into higher-value services, while minimising capital investment and ongoing management burden," he said.
