AMD shares memory with VIP Computers

Chip vendor crowns distributor as exclusive launch partner for new line of memory products

Chip maker AMD has appointed distributor VIP Computers as the exclusive launch partner for its new range of own-brand memory products.

The AMD Memory products are available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB modules, at a range of price points and RAM speeds.

They are designed to make it easier for end users to match their DRAM requirements with their PC needs, and are compatible with other AMD platforms.

Dave Stevinson, sales director of VIP Computers, said the distributor was delighted to have been chosen by AMD to market the products.

"This is an incredibly exciting move for AMD and we look forward to offering this range to our reseller partners," he added.

Matt Skynner, corporate vice president and general manager of AMD's GPU division, said: "Adding system memory to our product line was a clear opportunity for us.

"This move provides our partners and end users with a trusted brand synonymous with quality."
