Watt handed global role at Avnet
Former Bell man elevated to corporate vice president post
Avnet has promoted Graeme Watt (pictured) to the post of corporate vice president of the entire firm.
Watt joined Avnet as a result of its acquisition of Bell in July 2010 and was immediately appointed as EMEA president of the distributor's enterprise business, Technology Solutions.
Since then, he has overseen the merger of Avnet and Bell in Europe, who were a similar size on this side of the Atlantic.
Watt's 20-year career in IT distribution has also included a stint helming Tech Data's EMEA operations.
He is one of two executives to have been promoted in a corporate reshuffle, the other being CIO Steve Phillips, who has been elevated to the post of senior vice president of the firm.
Avnet chief executive Rick Hamada said: "These promotions reflect the substantial contributions each of these executives has made to the success of Avnet, our customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders.
"By demonstrating exceptional performance in their respective areas of responsibility, Steve and Graeme have earned respect as leaders with a commitment to excellence."
