Telindus' Irish arm saved by MBO

Former Telindus country manager Darragh Richardson to lead rebranded outfit Agile Networks

The Irish arm of network integrator Telindus has rebranded itself as Agile Networks following a management buyout.

Telindus, which is owned by Belgian telco Belgacom, leapt into Ireland in 2007 before expanding its local presence in 2009.

According to local reports, the operation was served with a closure notice in August. However, the jobs of its six staff have been saved after a local grant helped them perform an MBO.

The move follows similar MBOs undertaken in Telindus' Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Austrian and German businesses.

Agile Networks will draw on Telindus Ireland's old customer base and vendor relationships, which include Juniper Networks, Extreme Networks and Cisco.

Former Telindus Ireland country manager Darragh Richardson (pictured) – who is managing director of the new firm – was quoted on Insideireland.ie as saying: "These jobs are centred on the design, implementation and support of complex networks and related services to major enterprise and public sector customers.

"All staff members have significant expertise in networking, working for major enterprises such as Siemens Networks, eircom, Damovo, 3Com and Smart Telecom."
