Civica wins Flintshire Council deal

Integrator to help council streamline its working practices and allow for more staff flexibility with new EDRM system

Civica has won a contract with Flintshire County Council to implement a new electronic document and records management (EDRM) system.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will help the council streamline common business processes as it continues its IT transformation plans. It will also allow for more flexible home working and mobile working arrangements for council staff, and improve management and allocation of overall workloads.

Alun Kime, information governance manager at Flintshire County Council, said: "To achieve cost efficiencies in the current economic climate, we require a transformation of our underlying processes to streamline operations, reduce staff time needed on administration and promote more flexible working.

"We were impressed with Civica's in-depth understanding of our needs and the technology became secondary to the process improvement."

Bill Loughrey, managing director of local governments and regulated markets at Civica, said: "Our EDRM and workflow system will help Flintshire County Council to substantially streamline its processes.

"This creates the platform and opportunity to improve regional-level collaboration among all councils in the north Wales region with reduced risk and simplified implementation," he added.
