Alfresco opens up on new hires and channel plans
Open-source vendor claims to have doubled the size of its worldwide channel-focused sales and marketing teams
Open-source vendor Alfresco has doubled the size of its channel team in preparation for its latest reseller recruitment drive.
The vendor specialises in the provision of open-source enterprise content management systems and claims almost 70 per cent of its business is done via the channel.
This year, the firm said it has added 45 new partners to its global reseller network and, in response, has added 10 new channel-focused sales and marketing staff to its worldwide executive team.
These include Jean-Michel Birck as the firm's channel and alliances director for EMEA and APAC, who previously worked at vendor giant HP.
John Powell, chief executive of Alfresco, said: "We are expanding our growth opportunities by strengthening our internal channel resources and extending our partner reach globally.
"This expansion will give current and prospective partners the resources and confidence they need to deliver."
On top of this, the firm has introduced a set of channel enablement tools, including new lead generation activities and a partner portal containing marketing materials and support.
