Mitchell beds in to role as Brocade UK channel boss
Vendor tasks former Juniper man with providing big growth in the networking channel
Former Ingram Micro and Juniper exec John Mitchell has arrived at Brocade as UK channel sales manager and been tasked with delivering aggressive growth in the networking market.
Mitchell has spent two decades in the IT channel and joins the network and storage vendor after 10 years with Juniper, where he was responsible for migrating partners following the acquisition of Netscreen. He started his IT career with a six-year stint at Ingram Micro in the 1990s and has also worked at McAfee and Xerox ScanSoft.
His brief at Brocade is to "strategically grow" the vendor's partner community across the country while providing meaty sales and market share growth for its Ethernet technology portfolio.
Brocade's networking portfolio stems from its 2008 acquisition of Foundry Networks. Last year the vendor admitted it had experienced difficulty growing the network business "to the levels we expect".
