Hammer nails 20 years in business
Distributor to ply its resellers with cash to mark birthday celebrations
Storage distributor Hammer is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a £4,000 cash giveaway.
Hammer was founded in 1992 by Steve Easterbrook and Paul Sangster, with its current management team – led by James Ward (pictured) – taking the helm through an MBO in 2005.
A quarter of Hammer's current 120 staff have been with the company for more than half its existence, the distributor claimed.
Hammer is giving away £200/€200 in 20 daily draws this month to mark its birthday. Every order placed by its resellers automatically receives an entry into that day's prize draw.
The company claims its turnover has risen by 50 per cent since the MBO and that it is the top distributor for 90 per cent of its vendors. On top of its storage distribution activities, Hammer operates a storage and server manufacturing arm, V2, Hammer Finance and Malleus – a channel-only professional services firm launched in October 2011.
It also has subsidiaries across Europe.
Ward said: "We are thrilled that Hammer is celebrating its 20th anniversary and our most successful year yet, concurrently. The company has come a long way from its modest beginnings to becoming as synonymous with storage as we are today."
