Insight makes European hardware acquisition
VAR snaps up continental hardware reseller Inmac
Insight Enterprises has bulked up its European hardware resale business by grabbing Inmac for an undisclosed sum.
With revenues of about $120m (£100m), Frankfurt-based Inmac punts a broad range of B2B hardware in Germany and the Netherlands.
Just 37 per cent of NASDAQ-listed Insight's EMEA sales came from hardware in its most recent quarter, which ended 30 September 2011, while the balance came from software and services. Total EMEA sales reached $289m, 23 per cent of the group total.
Insight EMEA president Stuart Fenton (pictured) said the acquisition of Inmac will add hardware technology sales, lifecycle services, marketing and supply chain expertise to its existing software business in mainland Europe.
"This acquisition supports our strategic plan to expand hardware capabilities into key markets in our existing European footprint," said Fenton.
"The combined organisation will offer our clients a complete set of hardware, software and related services solutions in Germany and the Netherlands."
