EfficientIP signs Computerlinks for DDI assault
Gallic DDI vendor hunts for partners to take its SOLIDserver appliances to UK customers
French DDI vendor EfficientIP has inked a UK distribution agreement with Computerlinks, three months after launching a local office.
The DDI market – which encompasses DNS, DHCP and IP management systems – was valued by Gartner at about $276m (£180m) for 2011.
Gallic DDI contender EfficientIP opened an office in Theale in October and the Computerlinks signing is a continuation of its global expansion. The duo already works together in several European territories.
The agreement will hand Computerlinks' partners access to EfficientIP's SOLIDserver suite of appliances, which it is claimed can enable firms to slash DNS management costs by up to 75 per cent.
The proliferation of devices that need IP addresses to function – as well as the move to the IPv6 protocol – has thrust DDI centre stage recently, Computerlinks argued.
David Caughtry, director of core technology at Computerlinks, said: "The technical quality and flexibility of EfficientIP's solutions allow them to adapt to the most demanding customer needs, which will help our channel partners to quickly develop this fast-growing market.
"With drivers such as cloud computing, virtualisation and the consumerisation of IT putting increased pressure on networks, it is essential for businesses to ensure that the basics such as administration and security are in order."
Ronan David, channel manager at EfficientIP, said: "Thanks to this new relationship with Computerlinks, we will strengthen our presence in the UK market whilst benefitting from its expertise and ability to provide high-quality services that meet the expectations of resellers and end users."
