Gem picks up Fox

Distributor takes on IT director as it looks to grow market share

Distributor Gem has snared its new IT director from rival CMS Peripherals as it looks to further strengthen its market position in 2012.

Richard Fox (pictured) was responsible for senior-level IT strategies at CMS Peripherals, and also headed up the sales and commercial teams. He previously held positions at Savills, Adecco and Connectology.

Fox will report directly to European managing director Chris Peacock.

In a statement, Peacock said: "The key to Richard's success will be to support and shape Gem's vision and objectives by delivering an integrated, flexible and scalable IT solution that will work well to provide value for the business internally, but also offer the same benefit externally to Gem's customers and suppliers. We are extremely excited to have Richard on board and believe he will deliver the results."
