Core Security to enlist a "few good men"
Vendor searches for crack team of loyal resellers after hiring first feet on UK street
Recent UK entrant, risk management vendor Core Security, is hunting for a "few good men" to take its new Core Insight enterprise offering to market.
Founded in 1996, US-based Core Security has racked up 1,300 customers for its flagship Core Impact desktop penetration testing software.
It moved into the enterprise market 14 months ago with the launch of Core Insight and has recently taken on its first three UK staff, including channel manager Dan Buckley this month.
Director of product marketing Mike Yaffe said the product would open up new opportunities for partners.
"At the desktop application level we have some overlap with competitors," Yaffe said.
"But Core Insight is a scalable, automated platform that enables people to pre-empt risk and is completely unique. Partners are asking how do I expand my breadth of offering and that is what we bring to the table – it is the next thing relative to vulnerability testing."
The security and vulnerability market Core plays in will grow to $5.3bn by 2014 according to IDC, Yaffe said.
Yaffe said Core would recruit selectively on top of its small handful of existing UK resellers, which includes Pentura.
"I know it's a cliché but we are looking for a few good men," said Yaffe.
"We are not looking for quantity but quality of partners with subject matter knowledge and who want to work with us."
Resellers with reach into Global 10,000 accounts in the finance, healthcare, retail and government sectors top Yaffe's wish list.
