ThinkGrid and Ingram team up for cloud push
Hosted infrastructure vendor signs distributor to give partners extra support in the cloud
Hosted infrastructure vendor ThinkGrid has signed a distribution deal with Ingram Micro to help its burgeoning partner network make the most of cloud opportunities.
ThinkGrid provides resellers with access to white-label cloud services, including Microsoft Exchange and hosted desktops, and lets partners bill customers directly for using them.
Speaking to ChannelWeb, Rob Lovell, chief executive of ThinkGrid, said the firm had enlisted Ingram to ramp up its partner recruitment activities.
"We have so many partners in the UK and it is important for us to give every single one of them the time, support and management they need," he said.
"We realised that we needed to bring someone in who can do that, and we had been very impressed with Ingram Micro's approach to the cloud and channel."
The distributor's Ingram Micro Cloud programme provides its reseller partners with access to sales and technical support for cloud services.
The initiative is part of the firm's wider aim to establish itself as a "cloud aggregator", offering partners a range of cloud services that can be packaged together easily.
Matt Sanderson, UK managing director of Ingram Micro, said: "Our stated goal is to become the valued-added distributor of aggregated cloud technologies for the channel. ThinkGrid, with [its] 100 per cent channel focus, is an important partner in achieving this goal."
