CCS Media hails another record trading year

VAR sees 13 per cent increase in turnover for FY 2011 and is aiming to smash the £80m barrier in 2012

Fast-growing VAR CCS Media is celebrating a 13 per cent spike in turnover for its full financial year 2011 and is aiming to smash the £80m barrier in FY 2012.

The firm - which is opening two new offices next month in Sheffield and Uxbridge to add to its existing 14 sites around the UK - saw turnover hit a record £68m, after a 27 per cent jump in sales growth in the Christmas run-up.

Terry Betts, chief executive of CCS (pictured), said: "This year we will go for £80m. January is already looking like we will be 20 to 25 per cent up on the previous year, so we are feeling very confident."

He said the firm was still recruiting. "We have a lot of people coming to us at the moment and we are recruiting for all levels - those with several years of experience and also at trainee and apprenticeship level."

Areas of particular growth for CCS have been technical services, which grew 35 per cent, and software, which grew 27 per cent.

Betts added that the SMB space was CCS' main stomping ground, but added the firm has a number of large corporate customers as well.

"Ironically, all the main manufacturers want the SMB market now," he said. "Last year it was all about datacentres and now it is SMBs. They are realising there is not as much loyalty in large corporate purchasing departments. The good thing is that they need the channel to help them do this."
