Wick Hill hooks up with darling of Silicon Valley
Distributor unveils application networking specialist A10 Networks as latest signing
Distributor Wick Hill has inked a contract with a firm named as Silicon Valley's second-fastest-growing private company last year, application networking specialist A10 Networks.
Founded in 2004, A10's flagship AX Series platforms offer solutions for three key markets – application delivery/load balancing, IPv6 migration and cloud computing and virtualisation.
The San Jose-based outfit was ranked as the second-fastest-growing firm in the Bay Area last year, according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal. It claims to have amassed 1,200 customers for its AX Series.
Wick Hill chairman Ian Kilpatrick said A10 represented a high-growth opportunity for resellers.
"We expect this level of growth to continue because the company has great core technology which helps applications work faster and more efficiently," he said.
A10's IPv6 migration capabilities could prove a particularly lucrative niche for the channel after the address pool for IPv4 was exhausted last year, Kilpatrick said.
"A10 provides solutions which enable organisations to manage IPv6, without the infrastructure cost of migration. This is crucial when trying to minimse the expense of introducing IPv6," he explained.
Mark Edge, director of sales EMEA at A10, said: "Wick Hill's knowhow, technical capabilities and strong channel presence in the region will allow us to accelerate our business expansion."
