Fujitsu bears margin gift for over-achievers

Vendor unveils eight per cent Primergy discount to help VARs target this quarter's public sector feeding frenzy

Fujitsu is offering resellers who hit their Q1 sales targets an extra eight per cent margin cut on its Primergy servers.

The rebate will take resellers' total potential margin on Primergy units to "upwards of 20 per cent" this quarter, helping them target big deals as public sector organisations flush out the last of their annual budgets.

In addition, Fujitsu is providing resellers with a three-for-two offer on its Primergy RX300 rack servers and four-for-three on its Primergy MX (micro) and Primergy TX (tower) servers.

The vendor recently claimed it had made solid headway in the UK channel with its tally of SELECT Server or Storage Expert partners swelling from 10 to 60 last year.

Craig Parker, head of product marketing at Fujitsu's UK & Ireland Technology Products Group, said: "Fujitsu is strong in government and education and with the annual spending round coming to an end soon and next year's budgets likely to be squeezed, the extra flexibility that these offers gives to resellers is bound to help."
