CA launches green IT push with Devoteam

Software vendor signs first EMEA go-to-market partner for its PC power management product, ecoDesktopq

CA Technologies has enlisted the help of pan-European reseller group Devoteam to market its ecoDesktop offering to end users across EMEA.

The product is described by CA as a desktop power management tool. Its aim is to help end users reduce the energy costs associated with running desktop PCs in their organisations.

The deal makes Devoteam, which boasts offices in 23 countries across EMEA, the first go-to-market partner for the product in the region.

Peter Høygaard, a partner at Devoteam, said the product will be a good fit for customers that want to reduce their carbon footprint.

"Devoteam [will] initially focus on implementations of CA ecoDesktop in EMEA, prior to expanding Devoteam coverage to include implementations in other geographies," he added.

Sonny Masero, vice president of sustainability in EMEA at CA, added: "Most large organisations waste power when it is often possible to reduce energy consumption through the management of power used by PCs and other desktop devices.

"We are excited to be partnering with Devoteam to help reduce the energy usage [of companies] by as much as 30 percent with CA ecoDesktop."
