Will channel firms have to pay top dollar to attract the best staff in 2012?
A recent ChannelWeb poll provided insight into the channel's top recruitment woes
Employment specialist Channel Recruitment Solutions (CRS) told ChannelWeb recently that firms could be forced to splash out big bucks this year to secure the services
of the channel's top-performing staff.
The recruitment specialist claimed dwindling supplies of good-quality candidates should help channel execs in pursuit of a new challenge to
command higher salaries and job perks this year.
CRS' figures also showed that smaller firms were managing to grab a decent slice of the talent available, as their larger rivals' recruitment activities were curtailed by red tape.
Simon Brealy, business development manager at CRS, said: "A lot of candidates were lost to alternative employment where a decision can be made faster, giving candidates a feeling of being more valued. Often, these opportunities come from smaller firms that can adopt a more flexible approach to getting top talent."
With this in mind, a recent ChannelWeb poll asked readers if they think channel firms will need to pay top dollar to attract the best staff in 2012, and nearly half of respondents (47 per cent) voted no.
