VAR Sumlock bites the dust after almost four decades
Newcastle-based Lenovo and VMware partner succumbs to insolvency
Reseller Sumlock Electronics has hit the wall after 36 years in business.
The Geordie VAR was founded in 1976 and its website indicates that key vendor partnerships include NEC, VMware, Lenovo, LG, Sophos and Ricoh. The company also claims to have offered telecommunications services and consultancy.
A creditors' meeting is scheduled for 16 February in Leeds. Callers to Sumlock offices are advised that the firm is in liquidation, and to direct enquiries to administrator Walsh Taylor. ChannelWeb has contacted the administrator and is awaiting response.
In recent years, Sumlock's assets have declined as it liabilities have increased. In FY08, total assets were £876,563, while liabilities were £475,910. By FY10, these figures stood at £594,392 and £534,198, respectively.
