ScanSource expands professional services

Team boost aims to help resellers with services

Auto-ID, video and mobility products distributor ScanSource Europe has doubled the size of its professional services team.

Colin Booth, director of professional services for Europe at ScanSource, said in a statement: "As end customers and resellers have taken cost-saving measures over the past couple of years, it has led to an increase in the number of activities they are looking to outsource to third parties."

Booth said the expansion should help its resellers win more business on their side by enhancing their offering. ScanSource believes there will be growing demand from VARs for its services this year.

As a result of the expansion, resellers in each European region will be able to access their own professional services representative to help them with activities such as outsourcing of installation or maintenance contracts.

The distributor also plans to expand the range of services that resellers can bundle in with hardware sales, according to Booth.
