What is the biggest threat to your business this year?

ChannelWeb asked readers to cast their vote on their biggest business fears will be in 2012

Figures from credit referencing agency Graydon UK recently revealed that 356 resellers went out of business last year, which amounts to the highest number of channel business failures since 2002.

It was also claimed that the relatively high rate of business failures seen in 2011 could be repeated this year, although Alan Norton, head of intelligence at Graydon, said the channel is in a better position than some other industries.

"[The channel] does not have the same level of new market entrants as in other sectors, and those that are left are very experienced and have cut their cost base accordingly," he said.

With this in mind, ChannelWeb recently asked readers to cast their vote on what they think will be the biggest threat to their business in 2012.

The most popular answer, garnering 70 per cent of the votes, was a lack of access to finance. In second place, with just 11 per cent, was retaining talented staff, whereas nine per cent opted for falling margins.
