Comstor earns Cisco UCS configurator status
Distributor gets green light to custom-build B-Series model blade servers
Cisco-focused distributor Comstor has bagged a configuration accreditation for the vendor's B-Series Unified Computing System (UCS) range of servers.
The badge will allow the Westcon-owned distributor to custom-build blade servers to resellers' specifications. Comstor is now also accredited to work alongside Cisco Authorised Technology Providers and Unified Computing Technology Specialised Partners in creating bespoke datacentre products and services.
"As one of Cisco's elite distributors, our goal has always been to jointly accelerate customer adoption of its award-winning datacentre technology," said Comstor president Jon Pritchard. "This announcement is yet another significant step in our alliance, allowing resellers and their customers to fully utilise the power of Cisco."
Comstor claimed its new certification will bolster its LEAP (Learn, Experience, Architect and Plan) programme, which is aimed at helping VARs create a Cisco datacentre business. To take advantage in the scheme, a VAR must send the relevant account manager, sales engineer and field engineer on a rigorous UCS training course.
Cisco vice president of worldwide distribution Scott Brown said: "Earning the certification as a Cisco UCS B-Series Authorised Configurator is a natural evolution for Comstor and allows Cisco resellers with datacentre practices to accelerate the delivery of Cisco Unified Computing solutions to end customers."
