Tim Brooks departs Westcon Convergence

UK general manager heads for pastures new after more than 20 years with comms and networking distribution group

Westcon Convergence UK general manager Tim Brooks has left the business, the distributor has confirmed.

Brooks joined Crane in 1991 and become part of the Westcon set-up in 2007 after its acquisition of its rival distributor. He assumed the UK general manager post the following year. Westcon confirmed he has departed, but declined to comment further.

Brooks' exit comes the day after the distributor announced that former Avaya global channel chief Jeremy Butt will take on the role of EMEA executive vice president – although the two moves are unrelated.

Butt has the task of forging regional businesses into a cohesive pan-EMEA operation. He claimed he "expects us to not only meet, but far exceed our aggressive goals for the region".

"I have been fortunate enough to work closely with Westcon in EMEA on a number of occasions throughout my career," he added. "The company has lived up to its reputation as a customer-centric distributor with an unmatched level of expertise."
