NetApp announces new EMEA boss

Storage vendor promotes Manfred Reitner to senior vice president for EMEA with immediate effect

NetApp has promoted Manfred Reitner to the position of senior vice president and general manager for EMEA.

He replaces Andreas König with immediate effect. König has held the role since 2007 and will leave the company in June.

Previously, Reitner (pictured) was responsible for leading NetApp's enterprise division in the UK, Germany and France and has been at the storage vendor since 1997.

In his new role, he will oversee the company's EMEA-wide growth strategy, as it works towards becoming the region's number one storage vendor.

"I am excited to build upon the successful foundation that Andreas has created in the region," said Reitner.

"I am committed to supporting NetApp as we strive to be the number one storage vendor in EMEA and continue to deliver on our promise to deliver business success to our customers and partners."

Rob Salmon, executive vice president of field operations at NetApp, added: "We are dedicated to a smooth transition over the next few months to ensure continuity in leadership for the business, as well as for our partners and customers in the region."
