Crestron expands demo locations for UK dealers

Experience centre in Leeds to be supplemented by new facility at Cobham HQ

Automation and audiovisual specialist manufacturer Crestron has opened a design and experience centre in central Leeds to assist its resellers and their customers, and plans to open another in Surrey, to be unveiled in the summer.

Phil Breitschadel, sales manager for Crestron UK, said the grand opening of the space on 1 March means dealers will now have a northern space to bring their customers for product demonstrations.

"The design and experience centre has moved to a prime location, making it more accessible for clients and easier for them to meet with their customers. We have opened this site to provide an experience that aims to help customers understand the technology and how it is integral to what they do," he said in a statement.

The site is near the M1 so should prove convenient for many end users and resellers. Training and courses will also be offered to cope with what Crestron believes will be increased demand from resellers.

Crestron's Leeds announcement comes ahead of news it will also open an experience centre focusing on residential offerings at its UK headquarters in Cobham, Surrey, kicking off with an open day for integrators, end users, consultants and architects on 13 June.

"Cobham is just a short hop from Junction 10 on the M25 and close to London. With our new centre we are offering our dealers and integrators a home-away-from-home to highlight working solutions to their own clients," Breitschadel said.

Robin van Meeuwen, vice president at Crestron International, said the plan is to take the products, initiatives and training the vendor tends to provide at trade shows, such as ISE and InfoComm, and make them accessible to the UK customer base as required.

"The launch on 13 June will be the first in a long line of events at our UK base and the space is already shaping up to be a flagship showcase," said van Meeuwen.
