Azlan focuses on BYOD opportunity
Distributor set to offer a series of Cisco wireless access bundles as trend for bringing your own device to work continues
Azlan has jumped on the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) bandwagon, launching an initiative in partnership with Cisco.
The distributor, part of Computer 2000, is offering a series of pre-defined bundles featuring Cisco wireless access points and routers that it claims will allow quick and easy access to the network.
Entry-level starter packs come with five access licences and support up to 100 users – one is a basic set-up, while the other has a built-in firewall. Azlan’s solutions architects will provide technical advice to resellers on BYOD implementations, and it will work with them to develop value-added services around the starter packs.
Mark Wheeler, Cisco business unit director at Azlan, said: “With the number of users wanting to access the corporate network though their own smartphones and tablets as well as laptops, organisations are having to face up to the technical, security and compliance challenges that BYOD brings – and they need to do that right now.
“Our BYOD programme gives resellers a set of predefined options that they can take to customers immediately. We have started with these relatively simple Starter Packs and we will be drawing on the broader strengths of Azlan and other specialist business units within the company as we add more options.”
