Logicalis aims for BYOD supremacy with Cisco ISE badge

Integrator snags accreditation on vendor's access control gear as it seeks to become "leading BYOD services provider"

Logicalis has tied up a Cisco Authorised Technology Provider (ATP) badge, which it hopes will allow it to cash in on the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend.

The Slough-headquartered VAR has been awarded the Identity Services Engine (ISE) ATP accreditation. The Cisco Gold partner is now certified to implement and support the vendor's access control platform.

Logicalis claims ISE offers users authenticated network access, posture, profiling, monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting and guest management. The integrator has been granted ATP status across Asia, North America and the UK.

Chief executive Ian Cook claimed his firm is intent on "becoming the leading provider of BYOD consulting, infrastructure and services for enterprise and mid-market customers". Logicalis will "announce further capabilities and services in this space in the coming months", he added.

"With the sales of smartphones now outstripping that of PCs, and as major business applications such as analytics, collaboration and video migrate from the desktop to the tablet device, many of our customers are seeking our assistance to start their journey towards enabling their users to bring their own device," said Cook.

"Creating a BYOD strategy is going to be one of the CIO's top priorities over the coming 12-18 months. Building intelligent and secure wired and wireless communications networks is the first practical step in helping turn devices that started life as consumer fashion statements into trusted business tools."
