Trams snaps up Cancom's UK arm
Deal will expand Apple reseller's presence in the education, B2B and mail order sectors
Trams claims it has bolstered its position as the country's largest Apple B2B VAR after snapping up the UK arm of rival Cancom.
The London and Dorset-based reseller, which underwent an MBO in 2003, said it had been seeking further acquisitions ever since it purchased Rapid Group three years ago.
Munich-based Cancom bills itself as one of Germany's top three systems integrators, with provisional revenues last year of €544.1m.
Trams said Cancom's UK arm's key strengths are in the Apple Education market, as well as B2B and mail order.
In a statement posted on Trams' website earlier today, managing director Warren Peel, said: "The Trams Group has never been better placed to meet the needs of our customers with core strengths in Creative, Education, New Media, Broadcast, Finance, Government and Business IT markets."
Founded in 1990, Trams also works with vendors including HP, Citrix, Adobe, VMware, Oracle and Microsoft, and saw FY10 revenue rise by 8.5 per cent to £19.1m.
