Cancom confirms "temporary" store closures
Apple Premium Reseller has closed its remaining retail outlets several days after rival's takeover
Newly acquired Apple Premium Reseller (APR) Cancom has confirmed the temporary closure of its three remaining UK retail outlets.
Cancom was snapped up by rival reseller Trams at the end of last week for an undisclosed sum. Since then, several of its stores have stopped trading.
In a statement released at the time of the merger, the firm's new owner praised Cancom's strength in the "Apple education, B2B and mail order" markets.
Cancom's Brighton and Edinburgh outlets are understood to have closed on the day its takeover by Trams was announced.
Meanwhile, the Kensington store closure was announced by the firm on Twitter earlier today.
"We're sorry to inform you all that we have temporarily closed our Kensington High Street store," the tweet stated.
"Due to the acquisition of Cancom by Trams, its position is under review and a final announcement will be made in the coming few weeks. All servicing and repairs are still valid."
A series of short statements on Cancom's website claimed all three stores have closed temporarily.
A Cancom representative told ChannelWeb that Trams' managing director, Warren Peel, is expected to release a statement about the changes some time this week.
