LANDesk bags HP deal
HP to offer LANDesk's end-point management software to its business customers
LANDesk has hailed its recently struck alliance with HP as a major landmark in its efforts to penetrate the channel.
Last week, HP announced it would begin offering LANDesk's end-point management software directly to its business customers to help them reduce PC set-up times from "hours to minutes".
LANDesk, which was acquired by private equity house Thoma Bravo in 2010, has recently embarked on a channel push and is looking for three types of partner: SIs, managed services providers and OEMs.
Nigel Seddon, regional director for northern Europe at LANDesk, said the HP deal would provide a shot in the arm for its OEM channel.
"This is a huge announcement for us. Any part of HP has the ability to sell our end-point management solution with their PCs," he said. "It also allows channel partners of HP to resell our products."
Focusing on firms with more than 500 employees, LANDesk works across the fields of systems life cycle management, end-point security and service desk.
HP said the deal would allow its business customers to boost end-user productivity and more easily secure and connect devices across their environment.
Dan Forlenza, vice president of the Commercial Clients Global Business Unit at HP, said: "HP is committed to helping commercial customers mitigate issues that result in lost time, money and productivity."
