Former Trustmarque boss Miller pops up at VAR Academia

North London education specialist appoints Ross Miller to board as it looks to crack £30m revenue this year

Education specialist VAR Academia has added former Trustmarque boss Ross Miller to its senior management team as it looks to soar past the £30m sales mark in FY12.

Miller, who also holds directorships at firms including Unified Software and Net60Six, has joined the Enfield-based Apple, Adobe and Autodesk partner as a non-executive director.

"I am extremely pleased to join the board of Academia," said Miller. "This is a highly successful company with great potential to grow significantly in all markets. Combining my experience with that of the senior management team of Academia will produce a winning formula, and take the company onwards to great success."

The VAR, which posted sales of about £23m in its 2011 fiscal year, claims it is on track to crack the £30m barrier this year. Its rapid growth saw it placed 33rd in the most recent edition of the Sunday Times Tech Track rundown of the UK's 100 fastest-growing privately held tech outfits.

Mike Bacon, managing director of Academia, said: "Our consistent growth is very gratifying, but what is more rewarding is the fact that it is based on regular, repeat business from long-standing customers."
