Dell unveils cloud certification
PartnerDirect resellers will be able to sell cloud services and solutions based on both Dell technology and their own cloud offerings
Dell has officially launched its tailored Cloud Services and Solutions Certification as it makes a bold play for the cloud.
Earlier this year Dell unveiled its cloud intentions at its annual European Storage Conference.
The certification will allow resellers to provide cloud services and solutions based on both Dell technology and their own cloud offerings in a simple way, the vendor said.
Currently available across North America, the certification will be offered in Europe from 12 April, and is the result of months of collaboration with Dell’s partners and industry analysts to ensure it met the needs of many different types of cloud computing offerings, Dell claimed.
Bob Skelley, executive director of the Dell Global Certified Partner Programme and channel, said: “Organizations of all sizes, are looking to implement cloud computing solutions to align efficiency and deliver business results. We have created a certification practice area with choice and flexibility that will solidify partners’ value to the end customer. We invested the time and resources to fully understand the cloud solutions our partners need to provide in the market.”
And the move has prompted praise from partners across the pond.
In a statement, Dante Orsini, vice president of business development at iland, said: “Dell has continued to listen to us over the course of our partnership and the creation of this certification programme. It took the time to understand our concerns as a global cloud provider and find a way to go to market together that strengthens both of our businesses and adds value to our customers.”
Similarly, Anurag Agrawal, chief executive of Techaisle, was fulsome in his praise. “Dell is also making it easy for partners to demonstrate their infrastructure-related skills by accepting their membership in channel programs of recognised vendors in technology areas of security, networking and virtualisation.”
