Phil Jones starts work as biggest UK Brother
Sales and marketing director promoted as UK managing director returns to Japan
After 18 years at print vendor Brother, sales and marketing director Phil Jones has taken the reins today as its UK country head and deputy managing director.
Jones (pictured) has effectively replaced Hiroshi Miura, who is returning to Japan after four and a half years as UK managing director. Jones will report to the managing director of Brother International Europe.
"I'm taking over the day to day running here as UK country head as of [today] Monday," Jones told Channelweb.
The vendor has 180 UK staff based in Manchester.
Jones said he has spent 18 years at Brother, where he started off selling fax machines.
"Brother UK operates in a dynamic and ever-changing market where innovation, speed to market and marketing effectiveness are vital to achieve success. With almost two decades of experience with the company, I have never had two days the same and it has kept me fresh and invigorated," he said in a statement.
Jones won an Institute of Directors Director of the Year prize for the north-west region in 2010.
