Bytes hails record March trading
VAR smashes previous estimates after best March 'in living memory'
VAR Bytes has celebrated its "best ever" March, smashing its previous targets by £8m.
The Surrey-based software specialist attributed the £20m record turnover to a surge in demand from the public sector.
Neil Murphy (pictured), Bytes UK group managing director, said: "We have just had the biggest March in living memory, which finished after a great February. We made £20m, compared with £12m last March. We had only predicted £12m, so we are delighted.
"Government spending has gone bananas in March. We received a lot of orders from the NHS, local government and other public sector organisations.
"It is as if a lot of pent-up demand has been released, and many organisations realised they were in a 'use it or lose it' situation," he said.
