Complete IT dons Yorkshire growth crown

VAR wins accolade of being Yorkshire's fastest-growing medium-sized business in 2012

Bradford-based VAR Complete IT Systems has been officially named as Yorkshire's fastest-growing medium-sized business for 2012.

The firm, which was formed in May 2007 by Paul Spence and Ben Gregg (pictured, with the award), topped the Yorkshire Fastest 50 list, organised in association with the Yorkshire Post.

Winners were picked after a rigorous selection process by independent economic researchers from the Bradford University School of Management.

To qualify for the Yorkshire Fastest 50 list, firms must have made a profit over each of the past three years, as well as achieving turnover growth.

Complete IT – a Microsoft Gold and VMware Enterprise Partner, among others – grew its turnover from £3.5m in 2009 to £8.25m in 2011.

It has also recently invested £500,000 in purpose-built HQ between Leeds and Bradford.

In a statement, Spence said: “Our rapid growth is due in no small part to our embracing leading technology and delivering it to customers for the first time. This has empowered us to take market share and create new business opportunities in equal measure."

Sales director Gregg added: “We have worked hard to grow employment and prosperity in Bradford and have always taken an ethical approach to business. Things such as paying our invoices on time and investing heavily in training help us to build a reputation for quality and excellence that both suppliers and customers want to engage with.

“Being crowned as the fastest-growing medium-sized company in Yorkshire is a great honour and the credit for this goes straight to our team. We will use this award to continue to build our reputation."
