EntaTech signs with Digium on VoIP

Distributor adds Asterisk telephony and Switchvox UC

Enta has inked a deal with US telecommunications vendor Digium to offer its Asterisk telephony and Switchvox unified communications (UC) portfolio to UK customers.

Luke Steel, networking channel manager at EntaTech, said integrated IP telephony offerings could offer good margin to resellers.

"VoIP has become increasingly popular with our customers. We have formulated fantastic relationships with networking vendors," he added. "Working with Digium, the inventors of the Asterisk platform and whose PBXs and phones connect with the Asterisk core, provides VoIP without the deployment issues often involved."

Gayle Magee, director of worldwide distribution sales at Digium, said the deal expands its presence in the UK market.

"EntaTech has great technical expertise in networking products and understands the needs of its customers. We believe the combination of our product line and their expertise will help us attract many new resellers to our partner programme," she claimed.

Digium offers a range of VoIP offerings, including phones, appliances and telephony cards that can be used to unify networked communications across a business. Asterisk is an open-source app development platform.
