Micro-P gets too big for its roots

Distributor adds a further 6,000 sq ft to Chineham Park premises to cope with growth of its mobile and telco division

Micro-P has been forced to add extra office space to cope with the "phenomenal" growth of its mobile and telco division.

The Basingstoke-based firm has added an extra 6,000 sq ft to its Chineham Park building, following a 172 per cent growth spurt by its mobile and telco division. Its expansion follows the distributor's office move last year to accommodate a 31 per cent increase in headcount.

Its new space will include a mobility showroom to demonstrate mobile and accessory products from its vendor stable including Nokia, Samsung, Jawbone, Jabra and Tech21.

Paul Bryan, commercial and sales director at Micro-P, said: “Our successful growth strategy has accelerated the development of the company and we needed an extra building to house our expanded mobile and telco divisions which grew a phenomenal 172 per cent in 2011.

“Chineham Park has been our home since 1991 and the obvious communication benefits make this location perfect for our business, further enhanced by the additional amenities for our staff on-site."

Rupert Batho, managing director of Chineham Park, said: “Micro-P is one of the longest-established businesses here at Chineham Park and in the past two years we have seen this customer expand by 31 per cent and then again with this new building by a further 35 per cent. This exceptional growth shows how we, at MEPC, can help our customers accommodate their success.”
