2e2 ties up £40m Sussex NHS deal
Integrator wins seven-year contract after winning out in three-strong tender field
Integrator 2e2 has tied up a seven-year infrastructure services deal with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust potentially worth more than £40m.
The deal kicks off this month and runs until 2019. The Newbury-based integrator has been contracted to provide the Trust with managed IT infrastructure and data management services covering about 5,000 end users and 5,600 staff at more than 100 locations across the county.
The contract award notice adds that Sussex hopes "to replace and improve the services currently provided by Sussex Health Informatics Service (HIS) and the communications and data services provided by the Trust".
The notice reveals that three tenders were made for the project, the lowest coming in at almost £36.8m excluding VAT, and the highest offer standing at about £49m.
Lisa Rodrigues, chief executive of Sussex Partnership, said: "This is the start of a programme to revolutionise our information and communications technology, with 2e2 as our strategic partner. This vital programme will make these services fit to support our staff whether they work in hospitals, clinics or patients' own homes. It will enable our staff to concentrate on what they do best: providing excellent patient care."
