Dell appoints new CDM director

Mark Hiley takes channel development reins with the challenge of driving growth and developing deeper partner relationships

Dell is aiming to get even closer to its partners with the appointment of Mark Hiley as director of its channel development manager (CDM) team.

Hiley will have direct responsibility for the CDM sales team in the UK and will have the task of driving further growth at the top end of Dell's partner base, with a specific focus on servers, storage and networking.

Bill O'Shea, UK commercial channel director at Dell, said: "Our Partner Direct programme in the UK continues to be very successful. Since our launch we have gone from strength to strength, and we have experienced strong growth over the past two years in our Enterprise business. As we continue to expand the business we look to bring new talent into our team."

Hiley has a strong channel pedigree, spending 11 years in channel sales at LSI (now owned by NetApp) and 11 years at Data General Corp before that.
