Shepperd heads for Avaya exit doors

VP EMEA Mario DiMascio to oversee UK while replacement is sought

Avaya is hunting for a new UK boss following the departure of Andrew Shepperd after just eight months in the role, ChannelWeb has learned.

Shepperd (pictured) replaced Lee Shorten as Avaya's UK and Ireland managing director last August and immediately prioritised building video and high-end collaboration business with partners.

However, Avaya has confirmed in a statement that Shepperd has opted to move on. The comms vendor has initiated a search for his replacement and until one is found the UK will be overseen by Mario DiMascio, vice president of EMEA.

"Andrew Shepperd has played a key role in leading, driving and progressing positive changes within the UK and Ireland sales organisation," Avaya stated.

"Unfortunately, he has decided to leave Avaya, and we wish him well in his future career."

Shepperd told ChannelWeb: "I enjoyed my time at Avaya and wish them all well."

Peter Hannah, unified communications business unit director at Avaya distributor Avnet Technology Solutions, said: "It's a shame but inevitable that people move on and Avnet Technology Solutions UK will continue to grow its Avaya relationship and looks forward to working with new management to achieve mutual success."
