D-Link and C2000 reunited after two-year hiatus

Duo spark up romance once again despite decision to separate two years ago

Networking vendor D-Link has rekindled its relationship with distribution giant Computer 2000 (C2000) after a two-year hiatus.

Under the agreement, C2000's PC components division has snagged access to D-Link's full portfolio, which includes IP surveillance cameras, home storage and networking kit. It will work alongside existing distributors Micro Peripherals, Enta Tech, Ingram Micro, Gem, Norbain and Computerlinks.

The pair had an historic relationship until it broke down in early 2010 but has decided to spark up the romance once again, partly due to the success of D-Link's pan-European relationship with C2000 parent Tech Data.

Andrew Mulholland, business solutions manager at D-Link UK and Ireland, said: "Like all commercial relationships, it evolved and at the time there was a mutual decision to stop working together.

"D-Link is doing a lot of work with Tech Data across Europe and so now is the right time to re-engage with C2000 in the UK."

John Osborne, director of C2000's PC components business unit, stated: "We are very pleased to add D-Link as a supplier and look forward to taking its solutions to market and helping the company grow its business in the UK. D-Link's complete end-to-end networking portfolio will be a very attractive proposition for a number of our customers as they look for new revenue opportunities moving forward."
