CA competencies added to Cisco cloud builder programme

Cisco partners recognised for cloud environment developer skills

Cisco has decided that resellers competent in CA Automation Suite for Clouds will be accepted as "cloud builders" in the former's cloud partner programme.

Roger Pilc, general manager of the industries, solutions and alliances group at CA, confirmed the news in a statement today.

"CA's broad support for Cisco across its datacentre and cloud architectures enables Cisco channel partners to deliver services that can drive better business outcomes," Pilc said.

Under Cisco's Cloud Builder designation, partner skills are split into three categories: infrastructure, cloud management and professional services. The vendor's cloud partner programme is meant to indicate resellers are competent at designing and implementing Cisco-based end-to-end private or public cloud offerings.

According to CA, this collaboration between it and Cisco aims to deliver complementary integrated offerings that will give end customers visibility, control and automation supporting cloud computing. Their "shared vision", CA said, is about enabling channel partners and customers to more rapidly plan, provision, secure and optimise cloud services.

"By combining essential elements of service automation and service assurance, the integrated solutions help accelerate migration to a more flexible and cost-efficient datacentre," CA said.
